I FINALLY made all my dreams come true at the week

I FINALLY made all my dreams come true at the weekend and rode a tandem!! I have to admit, it wasn't quite as romantic as I was hoping. Certainly not the first incredibly wobbly ten minutes anyway. But we got there in the end and I'd definitely love to do it again. All be it on a slightly bigger bike, with bars that weren't fixed in a cocked fashion🤣🤨🥴

#mentalhealthawarenessweek bought with it some challenges this year. The company I work for asked me if I'd be willing to share my mental health experiences with my colleagues. I of course said yes, knowing the power of hearing other's personal experiences, but I was quietly absolutely terrified of actually opening up in such a public way in the work place.

Yesterday I talked depression, anxiety and eating disorders with my manager, my manager's manager, and people from all over the business. My heart was beating at a million miles an hour and I was sweating like I was in the desert. It was honestly one of the hardest things I've ever done.

But, it felt amazing. Amazing to open up and share. Amazing to hear others similar experiences. Amazing to finally realise I was ready to accept what had happened and be willing to open myself up to judgement.

This morning, still overflowing with a mixture of emotions I ran into the sea at 7am for a bit of #coldwatertherapy. It was bloody freezing. But bloody brilliant.

I hope your experience of Mental Health Awareness week has been a positive one. If you are struggling, you are not alone. Help is out there. And things can change.
