What I’m listening to…

Life in the Peloton

I’ve always been a big fan of Mitch and Life in the Peloton but this one was a particular triumph. Nine different voices from the team who took the TTT win on the first stage of the Giro 2014, putting Svein Tuft into the pink jersey. Hearing them all re-live such a special day is a wonderful mix of exciting and heart-warming.

Voxwomen

Slightly ashamed to say I’ve only just discovered Voxwomen, but better late than never. My favourite episodes so far have been ‘The realities of broadcasting’, which gives a great overview of all the challenges behind getting women’s cycling on TV. And, ‘Being happy with Kristin Keim’, a fantastic discussion on all things mental health related with highly regarded sports psychologist Kristin.

Podcrash – Colin Sturgess

This is one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to in years. Former World Championship cyclist Colin Sturgess opens up about his bipolar diagnosis; discussing how it has affected his life over the years. He has an incredible story to tell, covering everything from the doping scandals in cycling in the 80’s, to how he ended up homeless. It’s fascinating, emotional and inspirational!
